Thank you sorry for your sister. If you already have anti-drug strong enough, your nausea and mouth sores are no help so badly Mabye mints, gum, lemon drops or ice. Some say that zinc lozenges help.

My oncologist told me to use Biotest mouthwash. None of the wounds and the chocolate tastes good. I also use Biotest oral balance.

I had my last chemo 4th January of last year and the best thing for me was a Bitter Sweet, different every time because I had once I imagine, you will strike back again ill. So do not try anything you want. I brushed my teeth with baking soda. I hope that helps and good luck for your sister.

He bites into the ice and candy. For mouth sores, your doctor will give you a mouthwash or I have the same amount of kaeopectate sp (?) Rinse and Benadryl peroxide and then spit it out, I told my pharmacist. The kaeopectate is a barrier for wounds to heal faster.

I had the chemotherapy. Two years ago, and has the same thing. My oncologist gave me a special toothpaste and mouthwash to get rid of this metallic taste. Biotest toothpaste and mouthwash. I think Wal-Mart sells. A bit expensive, but it works!

Like some others interviewed here, I found that helped or sucking sweets. The office of my oncologist had pots of them on the desktop. He said without sugar are better than sugar tends to attract moisture aggravate ulcers. I also use Biotest Oral Balance and restaurants never tasted what is "normal" for me, eggs, potatoes and tomatoes was (tomato soup, marinara sauce, tomato sauce). Unfortunately, this is a process of success and what each individual.

Good luck to your sister and the rest of his family.

Some good ideas here.

My son was scheduled chlorhexidine mouth rinse care of wounds in the mouth. . I've never had in the 22 months she was in chemotherapy (which is very, very happy "experience).

When I was in high-dose chemotherapy (etoposide and Ifosomide), had problems with the smell of sick days. His sister recommended peppermint feel when he was ill. It worked well enough for him.

As for the taste buds. . Switching between Hard Candy seemed to help. It has never been all that hungry anyway during chemotherapy have been, and have preferred, but little sleep. Basically, she believes that everything that I wanted to eat. . was a good thing. . achieved everything I wanted.
